It looks like real-time weather provided by The Weather Channel may become a big trend in gaming. I’m not sure how many games have utilized this so far, but I know NCAA Football 08 from EA sports on the PS3 did. Now the Wii is getting it’s first game to do so. The Game is called “Nights: Journey of Dreams”. GamePro reports:
The feature will not be supported in the main game, but on a secondary mode dubbed A-Life which lets players create a self-developed sandbox environment using items unlocked in Nightopia, the fictional world in which the game takes place.
A-Life, though currently sporting dated graphics when compared to the main game, connects to Wii’s regularly updated weather channel to recreate true-to-life weather conditions in game, a first for the console.
