Resident Evil 4 is the only game originally released for the Gamecube and then ported to the Wii. As a Gamecube title it was also one of the most visibly popular games for the platform.
Over 300,000 copies of RE4: Wii Edition were sold in August, according to NPD Group, bringing the total to just over one million units. That accounts for about half of all sales of the game across the four platforms for which it has been released - Playstation 2, PC, Gamecube, Wii.
The milestone comes just as another, more controversial horror game has just been released for the Wii. Manhunt 2 was released this past week.
